8 Day Kyrgyzstan Tour – Explore Nature & Nomadic Life

Arrival at Bishkek International Airport. Immigration procedures usually take between 20 and 60 minutes and include passport control and baggage collection. After exiting the terminal, you will be greeted by our representative holding a “Pamir Experience” sign or a name board. Transfer to your hotel. Since the airport is located close to the city center, the drive takes around 40 minutes depending on traffic and hotel location. Upon arrival, you may leave your luggage at reception or proceed with check-in.
10:00 – Start of the Bishkek sightseeing tour
The day begins with a visit to Ala Archa Natural Park (about 35 km from Bishkek, approximately 40 minutes’ drive). Enjoy a gentle walk through the picturesque gorge surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and rich Kyrgyz nature. Observe local wildlife, listen to the sounds of mountain rivers flowing through ancient trees, and take in the peaceful atmosphere. Picnic lunch in the park. Free time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Return to Bishkek for a walking city tour, including:
Oak Park (also known as Dubovy Park), one of the most popular green areas among locals
Ala-Too Square, the central square used for national celebrations and public events
Philharmonic Hall located along Rose Alley
Statue of Manas, dedicated to the legendary hero of Kyrgyz epic literature
Victory Square, featuring the memorial complex built in 1984
State History Museum, offering insight into the history and culture of Kyrgyzstan
Visit to the colorful local bazaar and TSUM Department Store
In the afternoon, transfer to the National Flag Hill, one of the best viewpoints in Bishkek, where you can enjoy panoramic sunset views over the city. Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

09:00 – Drive to Son Kul Lake (360 km) through the narrow Boom Gorge and over Kalmak Ashuu Pass (3,445 m).
On the way, stop at Burana Tower, a historical minaret that once formed part of the ancient city of Balasagun, a significant center of the Karakhanid state. Explore the small open-air museum featuring ancient stone balbals used as memorial monuments.
Continue the journey to Son Kul Lake, where local shepherd families live in traditional yurts and herd livestock on high pastures. Here, you will experience authentic nomadic life and the simplicity of living in harmony with nature. Dinner and overnight in a traditional yurt camp.

Transfer toward Naryn with a stop at the ancient Tash Rabat Caravanserai, crossing Moldo Ashuu Pass (3,665 m). Tash Rabat is one of the best-preserved Silk Road monuments in Central Asia and once served as a shelter for merchants and travelers. Explore the site and its surroundings.
Continue to Naryn city for lunch with a local family. Naryn is the administrative center of the region and is located along the Naryn River, historically serving as an important trading post between Kashgar and Semirechye.
City sightseeing includes:
Central Square featuring a monument dedicated to Turdakun Usubaliev
Naryn Central Mosque, known for its beautifully decorated blue facade and scenic mountainous backdrop
Dinner and overnight at a guesthouse

Homemade breakfast at 09:00 – Transfer to Kochkor village via Dolon Pass (over 3,010 m). Kochkor is well known for traditional Kyrgyz felt craftsmanship. Visit a local workshop where you can observe the process of making felt carpets and participate in a master class known as a “shyrdak show.” Learn about traditional techniques and create your own handmade souvenir.
Lunch with a local family before continuing to Karakol, located at the foot of the Tien Shan Mountains. Arrival in the evening. Free time to relax. Overnight at the hotel.

Visit the unique wooden Russian Orthodox Church
Explore the Dungan Mosque, an architectural gem built without metal nails and decorated with intricate patterns reflecting Dungan culture Transfer to Jeti Oguz Gorge, famous for its striking red rock formations known as the “Seven Bulls.” See the Broken Heart Mountain and enjoy optional light hiking for panoramic views. Walk through Juuku Gorge for scenic photo opportunities. Return to Karakol in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel 09:00 – Transfer to Cholpon Ata along the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake (150 km).

Arrival at Issyk Kul Lake, one of the largest alpine lakes in the world, often referred to as the “Pearl of Central Asia.” The lake’s mineral-rich waters are believed to have healing properties. Free time to relax by the lakeshore or enjoy optional activities. Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer back to Bishkek (280 km) with sightseeing stops along the way:
Ancient petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years, depicting animals and hunting scenes
Visit to the Ethnological Museum
Arrival in Bishkek in the afternoon. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your morning departure flight. End of the tour.
